BAFTA Breakthrough and Screen Star of Tomorrow, Mdhamiri á Nkemi is a filmmaker graduated from the National Film and Television School, where he received the Toledo Scholarship and was awarded the year’s Most Promising Student Award. As an editor, he has been involved in films that have been BAFTA nominated and Academy long listed, BIFA winning (The Last Tree, FEMME) and multi-awarded (Blue Story, The Devil’s Harmony, Facing It), working alongside prestigious filmmakers such as Ridley Scott, Kevin Macdonald, Darla Anderson, debbie tucker green and Kibwe Tavares. He most recently worked on a Netflix original feature animation involving Wyclef Jean.  

Represented by Casarotto Ramsay & Associates in the UK, and CAA in the US, he has cut several feature-length projects, as well as high end TV and numerous fiction, documentary and animation shorts premiering and winning awards at festivals such as Sundance, Berlinale, TiFF, SXSW, London Film Festival, and many others. 

A member of BAFTA, BIFA and the European Film Academy, Mdhamiri has sat on Juries for the European Film Academy, BAFTA Connect, and the British Independent Film Awards. He has been a panel speaker at the Sundance Film Festival, Cambridge University, BBC News, Netflix, BFI & Creative England, and featured on podcasts such as the Director’s Take, and Art of the Frame.
